This government-backed certification is awarded to companies who follow the core principles of cyber security. Working through the requirements for this internationally recognised programme helps secure businesses against cyber-attack.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a UK government-backed scheme aimed at highlighting the vital security controls that will help companies handle the risk to their IT systems and helps to demonstrate a company’s commitment to cyber security.
Launched in 2014 by the government’s National Cyber Security Centre, the Cyber Essentials scheme sets out five basic security controls, that all businesses should be implementing, that can protect organisations against 80% of common cyber-attacks:
The UK government now requires suppliers bidding for some contracts that include the handling of certain sensitive information to have successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Certification.
Delighted by the news, Jason Blundell Head of Sales and Marketing for Cortech comments, “This certification demonstrates to our partners and customers our commitment to UK cyber security measures and that we are a company they can trust.”
“While we have always taken our data security seriously, going the extra step to become certified reassures our clients and the businesses we work with. It demonstrates our commitment to data security and proves we have the necessary security measures in place, while also providing a clear picture of our organisation’s cyber security level.”
He continues to explain, “Cyber-attacks are growing in frequency and sophistication and achieving Cyber Essentials demonstrates our commitment to reducing the risk of cyber-attacks, taking a proactive stance against cyber-attacks has become a priority for us.”
It means that you can be assured that Cortech Developments are taking all the necessary steps to protect our systems and data against a cyber-attack. This certification makes it clear that we continually strive towards improving the protection of our systems and our clients’ data.
“Obtaining Cyber Essentials certification, together with the leading information security standard ISO 27001, demonstrates that we take both cyber and data security very seriously. A big thanks to our team for achieving this accreditation.” Concludes Jason.
