First founded in 1987, the organisation provides free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for local charities.
This year Cortech are pleased to be able to help 35 underprivileged children as well as children with disabilities the chance to run away to the circus and forget their troubles for a day.
For 35 years Circus Starr has been bringing all the fun of the circus to children and families that may have found this difficult in the past. A circus is a family event that brings everyone closer, encourages creativity and allows people to become stronger and more able to face life’s challenges head on.
Working hard to help those with profound and multiple learning difficulties feel comfortable attending our shows, Circus Starr ensure a accessible and inclusive environment, where families can be themselves, whether it means dancing and shouting out or taking time out if they need to.
Nearly 1.5 million UK families can’t afford a single day out together & 50% of families with disabled children have said that the stigma and discrimination they face makes them feel isolated.
Circus Starr creates a magical world, harnessing the power of the circus and invites families with all kinds of different needs to have fun together in a safe, welcoming and unique atmosphere. They tour the UK bringing the very best in circus talent from around the world and stage 148 incredible, animal-free shows every year.
Every child, whoever they are, is free to be themselves at a Circus Starr Show – shout with joy, move to the music or appear centre stage!
